To make a claim under the burglary insurance policy, you would have to follow the below-mentioned steps –
● As soon as the burglary or theft happens, inform HDFC ERGO immediately. Intimation of the loss should be given within 7 days of the occurrence of the incident. You can send the intimation through an email or through registered post.

● Submit all claim-related documents within 15 days for the claim to be duly processed
● The company would send a surveyor to assess the extent of the loss. Help the surveyor complete the survey satisfactorily
● In the case of legal complications, like burglary or theft, file a police FIR and submit the same with HDFC ERGO
● The surveyor would assess the damage, prepare a claim report and submit the same to the insurer
● Based on the surveyor’s report and the claim-related documents, the insurance company would settle the claim
